Facelift

When contemplating a facelift, look at a photo of yourself from 10 to 15 years ago. This photo is a good indicator of the results you can expect.

Candidates for a facelift have too much loose skin, sagging cheeks, deep creases, jowls, and hanging skin beneath the chin at the neck area, caused by the natural aging process. A facelift is a plastic surgery procedure that improves the appearance of the whole facial area by reducing furrows, lines, and sagging, resulting in a more youthful appearance. The full facelift remains the gold standard because it can make you look 10 to 20 years younger while maintaining a natural appearance.

 

The mini-facelift reduces the amount of skin removed by about 50%. The degree of facial improvement is less and there is minimal, if any, improvement in the neck region. The mini-facelift is recommended for patients before the age of 50 who do not need improvement in the neck area.

Chin Augmentation

A chin augmentation or chin implant placement corrects a "weak chin" and restores balance to the face. A weak chin is most noticeable on a patient's profile.

 

Blepharoplasty

(Eyelid Surgery) - Surgery of the eyelids is most often the first surgical procedure recommended to make the whole face appear younger. Eyelid surgery refreshes the eye region, resulting in a well defined upper eyelid crease, a larger visual field, and a more youthful appearance. Heavy eyelids can make a person look tired, sad, or angry. The upper eyelid is a moving body part and accumulates excess skin with aging. Drooping lower eyelids and bags contribute to an overall tired or sad appearance.

 

Eyelid surgery can reverse the "tired look", by removing the excess skin to reduce hooding and heaviness of the upper eyelid. Lower eyelid surgery removes excess fat bags and tightens the eyelid muscle layer to smooth the lower eyelid region.

 

Brow Lift

A brow lift reduces forehead wrinkles and results in a more awake and youthful appearance.

 

Deep wrinkles across the forehead are a telltale sign of a low brow. The eyebrows descend with age. A low brow is present when the brow hairs are about ½ inch or less away from the upper eyelashes. A low brow gives your face a tired and angry appearance and can cause tension headaches. Low eyebrows make a person's eyes appear heavy and tired. Most patients use the forehead muscles to raise the eyebrows throughout the day, creating deep forehead wrinkles. Over time, the forehead wrinkles become very deep and forehead muscle fatigue may contribute to headaches.

 

The low brow is corrected with a brow lift. A lifted brow gives a person a more awake and refreshed appearance -- forehead wrinkles are smoothed. Brow lifts are often performed in conjunction with eyelid lifts.

 

Liposuction

Liposuction of the chin and jowls can dramatically improve appearance - restoring the natural tapered curve of the jaw line down to the chin.

 

With the natural aging process, isolated fat deposits settle in the jowl and chin areas, creating a square facial shape and a double chin. Liposuction of the jowl and chin areas restore a more youthful taper from the cheek to the chin, reducing the square shape of the lower face and eliminating the double chin.

 

Rhinoplasty

(Nose Surgery) - Rhinoplasty restructures and/or re-sculptures the nose. It may involve removing a hump, straightening a crook, or sharpening the tip of the nose for a more attractive appearance. The surgery can also improve airflow and breathing.

 

Fat Injections

Fat injections are popular and versatile procedures that result in a smoother, firmer skin surface. Fat atrophy is seen throughout the face with aging. Fat injections replace lost volume, fill deep lines and wrinkles, and restore a more youthful appearance to the face. Fat may also be injected into the top of the hands to hide tendons and visible veins to produce younger looking hands.

 

Restylane® and Perlane®

Restylane and Perlane are safe and natural cosmetic dermal fillers that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds, which are the lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth. They are made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body. Unlike rooster-derived hyaluronic acids and bovine collagen products, Restylane and Perlane are free from animal proteins. This limits any risk of animal-based disease transmissions or development of allergic reactions to animal proteins. The effects of Restylane treatments last on the average of six to nine months and Perlane lasts from nine months to one year.

 

Juvéderm®

Botox®

Botox® is currently the number one non-surgical procedure in America. Botox® is injected into the muscles that are responsible for frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and crow's feet. These muscles are located between the eyes, on the forehead, and around the outside of the eyes. Botox® effectively relaxes these muscles to soften and/or prevent wrinkles. Botox® has been proven safe through long-term studies and worldwide usage. The effects of Botox® last an average of three to four months.

 

Dysport®

The FDA has now approved Dysport® to treat forehead wrinkles and frown lines, making it only the second drug to be approved by the agency as a wrinkle treatment.  Dysport® (formerly known as Reloxin) is made from the same active ingredient as Botox® (made by Allergan), Clostridium botulinim toxin type A. Botulinum toxins temporarily reduce the appearance of wrinkles by restricting the muscle actions that cause creasing and frown lines.
